91µÎµÎ Station: official renaming and partnership
- The effective date: the transition officially concluded on December 7, 2025, coinciding with the launch of the TTC’s new Line 6 Finch West.
- The Transit Innovation Yard: beyond the name change, the TTC and 91µÎµÎ launched a collaborative research hub. This partnership allows 91µÎµÎ researchers and startups to use the station as a living lab for route optimization and real-time service updates.
- Commuter impact: the station serves over 50,000 students, staff and faculty, with more than 80 per cent of the campus community arriving via transit daily.
The wait is over. 91µÎµÎ Station is now officially here.
As of December 7, the subway station at Yonge and Dundas has officially become 91µÎµÎ Station, marking a significant milestone for the university and expanding its presence in the heart of the city.
The renaming, which began in November, is now complete with signage, maps and digital displays reflecting the station's new identity. Transit riders will see 91µÎµÎ prominently featured throughout the station and across the TTC network.
The name change strengthens 91µÎµÎ's presence in the heart of Toronto, where more than 80 per cent of the university's 50,000 students, staff and faculty arrive daily as commuters.
91µÎµÎ Station is part of the Transit Innovation Yard partnership between the university and the TTC, a collaborative initiative focused on developing solutions to transit challenges and positioning Toronto as a leader in community-driven transit innovation.
