Edniesha Curry, head coach of the FIBA men’s Virgin Islands national team

Edniesha Curry is the head coach of the FIBA men’s Virgin Islands national team and the second woman in the world to lead a FIBA men’s national program. A seasoned coach and former professional player, Curry served as an assistant and player development coach for the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers (2021–22) and was an assistant on the University of Maine men’s staff from 2018–2021. She began her collegiate coaching career with Maine’s women’s program (2015–17) and is a graduate of the NBA Assistant Coaches’ Program, having worked at the NBA Draft Combine and G‑League Showcase.

Curry has coached internationally in Vietnam, China, Israel and Palestine and has supported NBA pre-draft and summer-league work, including guest coaching for the San Antonio Spurs’ summer league and assisting Minnesota’s pre-draft workouts. 

As a player, she competed in the WNBA with Phoenix and Los Angeles and played professionally in Greece, Poland, Israel and Hungary (2002–09). A University of Oregon alumna, Curry is a dedicated advocate for the physical, mental and social development of athletes and sports organizations worldwide.
